Jajabor – The Roamer is an Assamese film directed by Rajib Sarma, a cinematographer based in Mumbai, and produced by Mousumi Sharma under the banner of Dhruv Films.
The film tells a story inspired by real-life incidents and was shot in the scenic locations of Assam and Tura in Meghalaya. Despite having a relatively small production team, the film was completed in a shooting schedule of just six days with around 20 crew members.
Jajabor – The Roamer Cast
The film features senior Assamese artist Lakhi Borthakur, who plays the character of an irritating old man.
Sasanka Samer plays the role of an under-confident young boy, while Rijusmita Goswami makes her acting debut with Jajabor – The Roamer.
The combination of experienced performers and a newcomer gives the film an interesting mix of established and emerging talent.
Music and Technical Team
The music of Jajabor – The Roamer was composed by Arup Jyoti Baruah.
The film’s songs feature the voices of some well-known Assamese singers, including Zubeen Garg, Siddharth Hazarika and Tarun Tanmoy.
The editing was handled by Mahesh Ghanekar, while Devabrot Chaliha and Santosh Kumar worked on the film’s sound mixing and sound design.
Shot Across Assam and Meghalaya
One of the notable aspects of Jajabor is its location-based visual approach. The film was shot in different locations across Assam and Tura, Meghalaya, capturing the natural beauty of the region.
The short six-day shooting schedule, along with a crew of approximately 20 members, reflects the compact nature of the production.
Selected for Nashik International Film Festival
Jajabor – The Roamer was officially selected for the Nashik International Film Festival (NIFF) 2014.
The festival selection was an important milestone for the film and brought attention to this Assamese production beyond the regional film audience.
